Resumo:
BACKGROUND: Video games, present since childhood and recognized by the BNCC as content for the 6th and 7th grades, can enrich the teaching and learning process in physical education classes, promoting playfulness, socialization, and cognitive development. However, there is a lack of pedagogical materials that integrate these games effectively into the school curriculum, particularly in physical education practices. AIM: To develop proposals for the application of video games in Physical Education classes, based on the contents of the BNCC, considering didactic-pedagogical adequacy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is a qualitative study with an exploratory and descriptive approach, aiming to develop practical proposals for the use of video games in Physical Education classes. The research was conducted in two main stages: documentary analysis of the BNCC and the development of pedagogical proposals. RESULTS: The BNCC presents video games as content for school Physical Education as a knowledge object for the 6th and 7th grades of the final years of elementary school in the thematic unit Games and Play. Based on the analysis of the skills outlined in the BNCC, proposals were developed to adapt five video games for inclusion in Physical Education classes. CONCLUSION: Video games, recognized by the BNCC as content for school Physical Education, can expand students' motor and cognitive repertoire. Therefore, proposing adaptations for the application of this content in Physical Education classes can be a way to ensure the inclusion of this theme in teachers' planning.
