The right to schooling creates possibilities, allows access to other rights, protecting the conception of citizenship, reducing educational gaps, favoring a socioeconomic environment, just as its denial leads to an increase in illiteracy rates, as well as inclusion Of these individuals to a condition of poverty and social demotivation. O direito à educação é muito mais amplo que a oportunidade em frequentar a escola, independente da faixa etária, e nessa contextualização, este artigo propõe a reflexão quanto ao direito à educação de jovens e adultos, enfatizando a responsabilidade na busca do conhecimento, permitindo que jovens e adultos, independente de seus motivos, garantam a Educação Básica. O direito à escolarização cria possibilidades, permite acesso a outros direitos, resguardando a concepção da cidadania, diminuindo as lacunas no ensino, favorecendo a um ambiente socioeconômico, da mesma forma que a sua negação propicia ao aumento no índice de analfabetismo, assim como na inclusão destes indivíduos a uma condição de pobreza e desmotivação social.
