Resumo:
Experiments in the teaching of Chemistry contribute to the understanding of theoretical / practical classes, making them easy to assimilate, dynamic and enjoyable. The research aims to highlight the practical / experimental activities made from low cost alternative materials as a good methodological alternative for the teacher to work on introductory concepts in the teaching of Chemistry addressed in the science discipline for 9th grade students. The locus of the research was State Elementary School and High School Professor Maria Cavalcante de Azevedo Picanço. The methodological processes are based on action research. The approach was qualitative, in order to bring a critical understanding of experimental classes carried out from low-cost material, showing that chemistry is present in students' daily lives, making learning more meaningful. The data obtained confirmed that students, when they are involved in practical / experimental classes, present greater involvement and performance in the assimilation of the introductory contents of Chemistry in Science classes, scientific look at chemical phenomena.
