CEPRRA is a cooperative formed by family farmers who, in 1994, began their journey in search of development. This cooperative was part of the Type A Demonstration Project (PDA), one of the Subproject of the Pilot Program for the Protection of Brazilian Tropical Forests (PPG-7), maintained with International Cooperation resources through the World Bank IBRD, with support from the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and other countries of the former G7. Its history is constructed from an identity originating from the peasant social movements positioning themselves against the assistencialismo and political clientelism during the process of colonization of the region of Apiaú. The PDA, as a public policy, aims at alternative production based on ecodevelopment and participatory democratic management. However, the Cooperative found difficulties in executing the program, since other groups from farmers, local and state elites were against the actions of the PDA. From its historical formation CEPRRA built its own identity based on another understanding of values linked to the land, the environment and alternative family production that does not prioritize and centralize family agriculture to the capitalist market. The fundamental methodology in this research contemplates interdisciplinarity with emphasis on the study of public policies, history, anthropology and geography. The research used the qualitative method of field research and case study through the collection of institutional data, interviews and other documents prioritizing the sources of these farmers, giving to demonstrate their history and conceptions. Sources of classical and other specific authors in the theoretical approach served to substantiate the relations of this group with the State, in the experiences with public policies and in the construction of their identity. Este trabalho analisa a trajetória da CEPRRA com o PDA. A CEPRRA é uma cooperativa formada por agricultores e agricultoras familiares, que em 1994 iniciam sua jornada em busca do desenvolvimento. Esta cooperativa fez parte do Projeto Demonstrativo Tipo A (PDA), um dos Subprojeto do Programa Piloto para a Proteção das Florestas Tropicais do Brasil (PPG-7), mantido com recursos da Cooperação Internacional através do Banco Mundial BIRD, com apoio da Agência de Cooperação Técnica Alemã (GTZ) e demais países do antigo G7. Sua história é construída a partir de uma identidade oriunda dos movimentos sociais camponeses posicionando-se contrários ao assistencialismo e clientelismo político durante o processo de colonização da região do Apiaú. O PDA, enquanto política pública visa a produção alternativa fundamentada no ecodesenvolvimento e na gestão democrática participativaNo entanto, a Cooperativa encontrou dificuldades na execução do programa, uma vez que, outros grupos do entorno de agricultores, elites locais e estaduais se posicionavam contrários às ações realizadas pelo PDA. A CEPRRA, a partir de sua formação histórica construiu uma identidade própria a partir de um outro entendimento de valores ligados à terra, ao meio ambiente e à produção familiar alternativa que não prioriza e centraliza a agricultura familiar ao mercado capitalista. A metodologia fundamental nesta pesquisa contempla a interdisciplinaridade com ênfase ao estudo das políticas públicas, da história, da antropologia e da geografia. A pesquisa se utilizou do método qualitativo de pesquisa de campo e estudo de caso através da coleta de dados institucionais, entrevistas e demais documentos priorizando as fontes destes agricultores, dando a demonstrar sua história e concepções. Fontes de autores clássicos e outros específicos, na abordagem teórica serviram para fundamentar as relações deste grupo com o Estado, nas experiências com as políticas públicas e na construção de sua identidade.
