The problem of sanitation and health becomes more visible in subnormal agglomerates, where a greater number of people exposed to risks, by lack of access to basic urban infrastructure. This descriptive exploratory survey was outlined from the survey data, aiming to meet the conditions of sanitation and environmental health of the Conjunto Cidadão`s residents, located in Senador Hélio Campos District in Boa Vista-RR. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire applied during semi structured interviews and participatory observation with photographic record. The data collected show that the population of the study area suffers health impacts related to inadequate environmental sanitation, evidenced by the high incidence of diseases such as diarrhea (48/100), parasites (32/100), hepatitis A (3/100), diseases skin (43/100), dengue (19/100), malaria (5/100), respiratory infections (28/100) and eye infections (17/100). Regarding sanitation, the majority of respondents do not have the garbage collected (83%), 100% of respondents are not connected to the public sanitary sewer, 95% are not served by the street cleaning service and land, not 83% are covered with drainage services and 84% of urban residents have stocked his home with public well water. As for the perception of respondents about the risks related to inadequate environmental sanitation, 97% claim to have knowledge of the risks to which they are exposed. In this perspective, the health problems must be understood in a broader social and environmental context and it is hoped that the information gathered can help in prevention and control of health problems related to inadequate environmental sanitation. O saneamento ambiental é um dos mais efetivos meios para a promoção da saúde, mas nem toda população brasileira tem acesso a esse serviço, sendo excluídos principalmente os mais pobres. A problemática do saneamento e saúde torna-se mais visível em aglomerados subnormais, onde existe um maior número de pessoas expostas a riscos, devido ao não acesso à infraestrutura urbana básica. Esta pesquisa exploratória de caráter descritivo foi delineada a partir do levantamento de dados, objetivando conhecer as condições de saneamento ambiental e de saúde dos moradores do Conjunto Cidadão, localizado no Bairro Senador Hélio Campos em Boa Vista-RR. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de um questionário semiestruturado aplicado durante entrevista e da observação não participativa com registro fotográfico. Os dados levantados mostram que a população da área estudada sofre impactos na saúde relacionados ao saneamento ambiental inadequado, constatados pela alta incidência de doenças como diarreia (48/100), parasitoses (32/100), hepatite A (3/100), doenças de pele (43/100), dengue (19/100), malária (5/100), infecções respiratórias (28/100) e infecções nos olhos (17/100). Em relação ao saneamento, a maioria dos entrevistados não tem o lixo coletado (83%), 100% dos entrevistados não são ligados à rede geral de esgoto sanitário, 95% não são atendidos pelo serviço de limpeza de ruas e terrenos, 83% não são contemplados com serviços de drenagem urbana e 84% dos moradores têm seu domicílio abastecido com água de poço público. Quanto à percepção dos entrevistados sobre os riscos relacionados ao saneamento ambiental inadequado, 97% afirmam ter conhecimento dos riscos aos quais estão expostos. Nessa perspectiva, os problemas de saúde devem ser compreendidos em um amplo contexto social e ambiental e espera-se que as informações levantadas possam auxiliar nas ações de prevenção e controle de agravos à saúde relacionados ao saneamento ambiental inadequado.
