Resumo:
Camu-camu(Myrciaria dubia Kunth McVaughn) is a plant native to the Amazon Basin. The fruit of camu-camu is important for the high ascorbic acid content, which can reach 6112 mg/100 g of pulp. It is not a domesticated species and has high phenotypic variability that can adapt it to both high and low soil fertility. The objective of this study was to evaluate the variability of yield and quality of camu-camu fruit in different environments generated by different forms of fertilization. The experimental design was randomized blocks with 10 environments and four repetitions. Each plot consisted of 4 rows of 5 planting pits, with three plants per pit. The seedlings used were a mixture of progeny s of the INPA camu-camu collection. Environments that received organic fertilizer resulted in greater production of fruits, however when combined with mineral fertilizer production was reduced. The environments had no influence on the chemical characteristics of the fruit of camu-camu, but promising plants were found with high ascorbic acid content (4043 mg/100 g of pulp) when fertilized with filter cake, compost and mineral every four months.
