One of the signs is the public, that is not interested in audiovisual media consumption through the TV like in the past. This essay brings the experience with journalism academic learners using the ethnographic documentary production. Is possible to use different ways to observe and register the reality without using the traditional journalistic tools. This concluded that is interesting the different ways in audiovisual registration to teach journalism. La crises atual en el periodismo es real. Uno de los sehales es el desinterese por parte de la recepción. Trayemos un relato inicial de uma investigación para la utilización de una metodologia diferenciada para na ensehanza través de la documentación audiovisual por la etnografia. Son otras posibilidades de lenguaje e incursión en ojares diferntes. Concluyemos que es salutar la utilización de este otro método para el desarroyo de la ensehanza. A crise no campo do jornalismo se mostra de forma contundente. Um dos sinais disto é o desinteresse do público pelos programas de televisão, sejam jornalísticos ou não. Aqui trazemos o relatório inicial de um experimento que levou estudantes de jornalismo de diferentes períodos ao exercício de novas possibilidades de linguagem e incursão em olhares diversos, utilizando o documentário audiovisual etnográfico como ferramental. Concluímos que é salutar a utilização da citada ferramenta como opção metodológica no ensino de jornalismo.
