The methodology includes the analysis of botanical material originated from new collections and specimens of the herbaria of the Museum Goeldi (MG) and of the Agronomic Institute of the North (IAN), beyond specialized literature. There are five species, distributed across three genera Malpighiaceae: Banisteriopsis caapi (Spruce ex Griseb.) C.V. Morton., Byrsonima laevis Nied., Byrsonima chrysophylla Kunth, Byrsonima crassifolia (L.) Kunth e Heteropterys nervosa A. Juss. The genus Byrsonima Rich. ex Kunth was the most representative, presenting three species. Byrsonima laevis and Banisteriopsis caapi are new records for the sand coast of Pará. Sandbank forest formation was the ecosystem which had the largest number of species. Identification keys, descriptions, and illustrations of the taxa are presented, as well as data concerning geographical distribution, additional comments and habitat of the taxa. Este trabalho consiste no tratamento taxonômico das espécies de Malpighiaceae Juss. ocorrentes na Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) de Algodoal/Maiandeua, Maracanã, Pará. A metodologia desse estudo abrangeu a análise do material proveniente de coletas e exsicatas dos herbários do Museu Goeldi (MG) e do Instituto Agronômico do Norte (IAN), além de literatura especializada. Malpighiaceae está representada por cinco espécies, distribuídas em três gêneros: Banisteriopsis caapi (Spruce ex Griseb.) C.V. Morton., Byrsonima laevis Nied., Byrsonima chrysophylla Kunth, Byrsonima crassifolia (L.) Kunth e Heteropterys nervosa A. Juss. O gênero Byrsonima Rich. ex Kunth foi o mais representativo, apresentando três espécies. Byrsonima laevis e Banisteriopsis caapi são novos registros para o litoral do Pará. A formação floresta de restinga foi o ecossistema que apresentou maior número de espécies. São apresentadas chave de identificação, descrições e ilustrações dos táxons, bem como dados adicionais sobre distribuição geográfica, comentários e hábitat dos mesmos.
