This thesis, developed in the line of research of Artistic Processes, Educational Experiences and Cultural Mediation, has as theme the Art as knowledge in the formation of the Pedagogue. To this end, it was delimited as an object of investigation the study of the Teaching of Art in the formation of academics and undergraduates, having as empirical basis the Pedagogy Courses of the Instituto Tocantinense de Educação Superior e Pesquisa Ltda. (ITOP/Palmas) and the Universidade Federal do Tocantins, Miracema Campus.The research was based on studies and analyses of bibliographic sources, institutional documents, legislation and data from empirical research, and aimed to deepen, theoretically and empirically, about the research problem that intends to analyze which formative perspective is present in the curriculum of pedagogy courses and whether it prioritizes the humanizing training of the pedagogue teacher. Themain objective of this research is to understand Art as knowledge and its importance in the education of the pedagogue who works in Primary and Secundary Education. In the course of the investigation, by adopting the method of historical-dialectical materialism, in a theoretical-practical analysis, the socio-political and educational approaches were combined at thenational level, with the analysis of the specific aspects of these two courses, in which concerns the teaching of Art in the formation of the Pedagogue. The methodological process of data was based on Content Analysis as a research strategy. A questionnaire was applied to the students and graduates of the courses under study. Therefore, by adopting the conception of Art as knowledge and creation and its possibility to promote the formation and humanization of the subjects, this study has found the theoretical emptying and content, it seeks to sustain the thesis that Art, in pedagogy courses, is characterized as a raredone knowledge directed towards an instrumentalized pedagogy.Therefore, it is distatedfrom a formative conception understood as appropriation of the knowledge produced by mankind that seeks formation and humanization |
