Considering prison education, the possibility of modifying the behavior of imprisoned
individuals and reducing recidivism in delinquent acts was questioned through the
implementation of public policies aimed at this scenario. The general objective of the
study was to verify if the educative practices currently used by the incarcerated ones
correspond to the government policy in vogue in Brazil. For that, a qualitative
bibliographical survey was carried out in order to provide an analytical-critical reflection
based on documentary data about educational practices in a prison environment. From
the notes in the literature that question the execution of the prison educational process,
it was observed the existence of public policies aimed at prison education and
normative acts that regulate the processes with the purpose of endowing the
incarcerated individual with possibilities of modifying conduct. It was concluded that,
although there are educational actions in a prison environment, the education forged
in this scenario, faces challenges, such as lack of structure and specialized teacher
training that encourages behavioral modification. It is believed that one of the
possibilities to minimize this problem would be the establishment of combined actions
between Education, Law and Psychology, aiming at the restructuring of the behavior
of prisoners. |
