As theoretical basis we bring some authors, such as Moraes (2002), Nascimento (2007), Cox (2004), kenski (2012), among others. The discussions in this paper were about the use of new technologies (computer) at school and how the implementation process affects the institutional environment as a whole, in view of the challenges faced, the training and updating of educators to exercise their pedagogical practice with innovative methodologies that contribute to the formation of individuals. The study was necessary to understand how the process and / or the technological backlash occurred at school and how it directly affects the work of teachers today. It is important to have knowledge about these facts, which are present, and most of the time, go unnoticed for not having professionals prepared to use it, leaving education outdated. The methodology used for this work were bibliographic studies, readings, internet research and field research. And the instruments for the field research were questionnaires applied to some staff and teachers, observation in the physical space of the Cristo Rei Parish School. The results were obtained through the analysis, interpretation and tabulation of the data collected during the research. Noting that teachers are not fully equipped and prepared to use computers in their pedagogical practices. Este trabalho tem como finalidade refletir sobre o uso dos computadores como ferramenta das novas tecnologias nas práticas pedagógicas dos professores em uma escola conveniada do município de Tocantinópolis, faremos abordagem de como se deu o processo histórico das tecnologias no Brasil, discussão sobre o uso e os impactos dessa tecnologia na escola, bem como refletir sobre a importância da formação dos professores para trabalhar com as novas tecnologias em suas práticas pedagógicas. Como embasamento teórico trazemos alguns autores, como Moraes (2002), Nascimento (2007), Cox (2004), kenski (2012), entre outros. As discussões realizadas neste trabalho foram acerca do uso das novas tecnologias(computador) na escola e como o processo de implantação afeta o ambiente institucional como um todo, tendo em vista os desafios enfrentados, a formação e atualização dos educadores para exercerem sua prática pedagógica com metodologias inovadoras que contribua para a formação dos indivíduos. O estudo se fez necessário para compreendermos como se deu o processo e/ou o retrocesso tecnológico na escola e como afeta diretamente o trabalho dos docentes na atualidade. Torna-se importante ter conhecimentos sobre esses fatos, que estão presentes, e na maioria das vezes, passam despercebidos por não ter profissionais preparados para utilizá-lo, deixando o ensino ultrapassado. A metodologia utilizada para a realização deste trabalho foram estudos bibliográficos, leituras, pesquisas na internet e pesquisa de campo. E os instrumentos para a pesquisa de campo foram questionários aplicados para alguns funcionários e professores, observação no espaço físico da Escola Paroquial Cristo Rei. Os resultados foram obtidos por meio da análise, interpretação e tabulação dos dados coletados durante a pesquisa.
