This prohibition, in fact, refers to the presence of minors in betting environments, where, most of the time, at snooker are found. The snooker, aimed at the practice of interested parties as a sport, could be inserted in the school environment, considering pedagogical potential. In mathematics, for example, the snooker can be used for the teaching of geometry. Taking this idea as a basis, the main objective of this work is to relate mathematics to everyday life through the pool game. Here, we will present the possible origins of the pool, its categories, its historical process in Brazil and the legislation regarding the pool as a sport. Regarding the content of Geometry that can be explored in the snooker, concepts and definitions will be presented that will also be necessary for the development of Chapter 4, where practices that can be developed in the snooker for the teaching of Geometry will be presented. For these practices, three scenarios will be proposed and for each of them, geometric strategies will be developed and exemplified step-by-step using Geogebra mathematical software as a resource. A sinuca é um esporte bastante praticado no mundo todo, porém, existe um tabu relacionado à proibição da sinuca para a prática de menores de dezoito anos. Tal proibição, na verdade, se refere à presença de menores em ambientes de aposta, onde, na maioria das vezes, as sinucas são encontradas. A sinuca, direcionada à prática de interessados como esporte, poderia ser inserida no ambiente escolar, tendo em vista seu potencial pedagógico. Na Matemática, por exemplo, a sinuca pode ser utilizada para o ensino de Geometria. Tomando essa ideia como base, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal, relacionar a Matemática com o cotidiano, através do jogo de sinuca. Aqui, serão apresentadas as possíveis origens da sinuca, suas categorias, seu processo histórico no Brasil e a legislação referente à sinuca como esporte. Quanto ao conteúdo de Geometria que pode ser explorado na sinuca, serão apresentados conceitos e definições que serão necessários também para o desenvolvimento do Capítulo 4, onde práticas que podem ser desenvolvidas na sinuca para o ensino de Geometria serão apresentadas.
