Resumo:
The brazilian poultry farming is an important economic activity for the country, especially for the recognition of Brazilian production, the exportation of the products, high employability index and for enabling small properties. Brazil is at the top of the production of broilers, and faces several challenges to remain amongst the largest producers, hence it is necessary to study and improve its production process, especially the processes involving the transport of the raw material that in this case is chicken transportation, the study of pre-slaughter management is essential for the development of the production chain, since this phase has a direct influence on the quality and costs of the final product. The present article aims to present the processes that guide the transport of poultry for the slaughter, as well as the importance that transport logistics exert during this phase of the productive process of cutting birds. Thereunto, a case study was carried out in a broiler slaughterhouse in the northern state of Tocantins, as well as a bibliographical research to elaborate a concise reference.
