Brazil is at the top of the production of broilers, and faces several challenges to remain amongst the largest producers, hence it is necessary to study and improve its production process, especially the processes involving the transport of the raw material that in this case is chicken transportation, the study of pre-slaughter management is essential for the development of the production chain, since this phase has a direct influence on the quality and costs of the final product. The present article aims to present the processes that guide the transport of poultry for the slaughter, as well as the importance that transport logistics exert during this phase of the productive process of cutting birds. Thereunto, a case study was carried out in a broiler slaughterhouse in the northern state of Tocantins, as well as a bibliographical research to elaborate a concise reference. A avicultura de corte no Brasil é uma importante atividade econômica para o país, em especial pelo reconhecimento da produção brasileira, exportações dos produtos, alto índice de empregabilidade e por viabilizar pequenas propriedades. O Brasil encontra-se no topo da produção de frangos de corte, e enfrenta diversos desafios para manter-se entre os maiores produtores, por isso precisa estudar e melhorar seu processo produtivo, em especial os processos que envolvem o transporte da matéria prima, neste caso o transporte de frangos, o estudo do manejo pré-abate é essencial para o desenvolvimento da cadeia produtiva, já que esta fase tem influência direta na qualidade e nos custos do produto final. O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar os processos que norteiam o transporte de aves para abate, bem como a importância que a logística de transporte exerce durante essa fase do processo produtivo de aves de corte.
