The use of herbal remedies has grown over the years in the health context, possibly coupled with the perception that the consumption of natural items is synonymous with wellbeing, quality of life and longevity; In this context, medicinal plants have shown to be a promising resource in the identification of new bioactive compounds. The objective was to analyze the use of Aloe vera-based coverage for the healing of LPP in hospitalized patients. A data survey was also performed through articles that show the efficacy of Aloe vera-based herbal medicine in the healing of tissue injuries, through systematic literature review in the electronic databases, LILACS, Medline, Web of Science. The results show the efficiency of Aloe vera in the cooperation of the process of repair and healing of tissue injuries, due to the presence of substances in the parenchyma of the leaves that stimulate tissue growth and cell regeneration. Thus, it is emphasized that the Aloe vera gel has anti-inflammatory properties promoting faster healing. We also found advantages in relation to the cost benefit, since the Aloe vera gel has low economic cost and easy access. A alta prevalência de lesões por pressão (LPP) no ambiente hospitalar arremete para a importância de novos e eficazes programas de intervenções na prevenção e tratamento dessa injúria. O uso de terapêuticas à base de ervas medicinais tem crescido ao longo dos anos no contexto da saúde, possivelmente agregado à percepção de que o consumo de itens naturais é sinônimo de bem-estar, qualidade de vida e longevidade; neste âmbito, plantas medicinais tem se mostrado como um recurso promissor na identificação de novos compostos bioativos. O objetivo foi analisar o uso de cobertura a base de Aloe vera para a cicatrização de LPP em pacientes hospitalizados. Também foi realizado um levantamento de dados por meio de artigos que evidenciam a eficácia do fitoterápico a base de Aloe vera na cicatrização de lesões teciduais, por meio de revisão sistemática da literatura nas bases de dados eletrônicas, LILACS, Medline, Web of Science. Os resultados evidenciam a eficiência da Aloe vera na cooperação do processo de reparo e cicatrização de lesões tissulares, devido possuir substâncias no parênquima das folhas que estimulam o crescimento dos tecidos e a regeneração celular. Dessa forma, ressaltase que o gel a base de Aloe vera possui propriedades anti-inflamatórias promovendo uma cicatrização mais rápida.
