This course conclusion work has as object of analysis the professional performance of the pedagogue in the School Health Program (PSE). In order to trace a path for the construction of the study, the following research problem was formulated: how is the pedagogue's work configured in the PSE? Is there a recognition of the possibilities of the pedagogue's performance outside the school? As a general objective of the research it was proposed: to identify how the pedagogue is asked to contribute within he scope of health policies, considering specifically the case of the PSE. As specific objectives were proposed: to discuss the elements that characterize the pedagogical work and the performance of the educator outside the school environment; identify the possibilities of interface between health and education, considering the role of the pedagogue; to know how the pedagogue works with the PSE, taking the city of Miracema do Tocantins, TO as a reference for study. The study, of a qualitative nature, sought, by means of a survey of specific bibliography, to trace a path that contemplates the formative dimension of the work, to then characterize the pedagogical work as a specificity of the pedagogue's performance. From then on, the relevance of the intersection between health and education for conscious human formation was discussed, based on knowledge and the construction of subjects' co-responsibility for their life and the construction of the society they desire, using Freire (1967; 1987; 1991). The data collected through conversations and the application of a questionnaire with the PSE team in the municipality of Miracema do Tocantins indicates that there is no pedagogue present in the execution of the program. In addition, the lack of planning more focused on pedagogical issues meant that the execution of the PSE was restricted to information and disease prophylaxis, approaching the approaches seen in preventive campaigns carried out by the health departments. The data and reflections signal, finally, that the proposition of an effective training in health would require the presence and planning action of a pedagogue and that the importance of his performance in different positions of the classroom, in the condition of class leader, demands greater conversations and confrontations.
