The work problematizes the concept of prison education as resocialization
of the individual. It is intended to investigate the limits and possibilities of prison education
as the re-socialization of the individual having as a horizon of human emancipation. O
general objective was to problematize prison education as a device for
resocialization of the individual. The specific objectives are: to describe the
sociohistorical foundations of prison education; discuss the concepts of "education"
and “socialization”, and its implications for the promotion of prison education; identify
and describe the limits and possibilities of prison education as a resocialization of the
convicted individual. This is a theoretical-conceptual study based on
bibliographical research on the subject, and from which it was concluded that education
prison presents more limits than possibilities for the resocialization of the
individual. Education activities such as re-socialization carried out in the system
prison, has little scope for the emancipation of the convict, as they are restricted to
to school instruction processes without a clear project for the integration of inmates to the
socioeconomic and cultural system of the communities in which they will be inserted. |
