Understand the professional practice of the psychologist, based on public documents, such as: reports, opinions, psychodiagnostics, psychological tests, laws, ordinances, resolutions, and reports, made available in digital processes, in the branch of childhood and youth of Palmas/TO, in 2018, specifically in custody proceedings. Their results showed that only 37% of the analyzed cases use all the sources provided for in the current rules. This figure indicates that approximately 1/3 of the cases are covered by the current regulations of psychology, and the other evaluations may be challenged in legal challenges, promoted by lawyers of Members of the Public Ministry. Finally, it is believed that psychology can contribute with greater quality, in the legal context, since his expert activity underlies the decisions of the Magistrate, and thereby modifies the social situation. O presente artigo buscou analisar as atribuições e as competências do(a) psicólogo(a), na Vara da Infância e Juventude de Palmas, Estado do Tocantins, frente a legislação e os regulamentos para este profissional no âmbito de sua prática. Compreender o exercício profissional do(a) psicólogo(a), a partir de documentos públicos, tais como: laudos, pareceres, psicodiagnósticos, testes psicológicos, leis, portarias, resoluções e relatórios, disponibilizados nos processos judiciais digitais, na Vara da Infância e da Juventude de Palmas/TO, no ano de 2018, especificamente em processos de guarda. Seus resultados apontaram que apenas 37% dos casos analisados utilizam de todas as fontes previstas nas normas vigentes. Este valor indica que aproximadamente 1/3 dos processos estão contemplados frente aos regulamentos atuais da psicologia, podendo as demais avaliações serem arguidas em contestações judiciais, promovidas por advogados ou Membros do Ministério Público.
