Resumo:
Physical activity is defined as body movement that results in energy expenditure above the baseline level. An important ally of physical activity is nutrition, favoring the body's homeostatic processes and maintaining health. Along with this fact, the demand for dietary supplements has increased, given the need for immediacy imposed by the population. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the consumption of dietary supplements, correlating the modality practiced and the objective aimed at their use. For the study, 109 participants of both sexes aged between 20 and 40 years were obtained. The survey was conducted through an online questionnaire using Google Forms, containing thirty-six questions divided into seven sections. Among the 109 participants, only 91.7% practiced some physical activity and 65.13% used food supplements. Of the modalities, the most significant was bodybuilding (83%) and the supplements used were those rich in proteins (85.9%). As for the objectives found, "Muscle mass gain / Hypertrophy" had a percentage of 70.42%. Analyzing the research data, it was possible to identify the associated consumption of supplements by the population, as well as the indiscriminate use without professional guidance. Therefore, guidance from a nutritionist is necessary for individualized planning for the population.
