Resumo:
This work presents a reflection on Environmental Education in the Família Agrícola schools in the State of Tocantins and the relevance of teaching geography in the practice of environmental education. Allied with the Pedagogy of Alternation as a sustainable path in rural education. In this way, we seek to analyze the contribution of geography teaching in Environmental Education. The methodological procedures adopted were initially guided by the bibliographic review (of texts, articles, dissertations, theses and books) and was complemented by the application of a semi-structured questionnaire to the Geography teachers of the EFAs. As a result, one can affirm the practice of Environmental Education in the daily life of EFAs, so we can also consider the absence of a specific teacher of the geography discipline in the classroom. Therefore, from the results obtained, we highlight the importance of Environmental Education in the teaching of Geography, as it is a science dedicated to the study of the relationship between society and nature.
