The present work, based on data on violence published in recent years, seeks to map the areas
of occurrence of homicide crimes in the city of Miracema do Tocantins, proposing actions,
plans and prevention measures to improve public security and promote human rights. Indeed,
grounded in criminological studies and knowledge linked to sociology, as well as in the daily
activities of the Public Prosecutor's Office, it is possible to perceive the existence of more
conflictive spaces that require integrated efforts to guarantee a feeling of peace in the
community. To this end, it is necessary to collect official data from the Secretariat of Public
Security, the Military Police, and the Judiciary in order to identify these areas, as well as the
characteristics of the places, especially whether or not they are endowed with urban
equipment. The qualitative, descriptive and bibliographic method is the most adequate for the
proposed study. Working on the issue of human rights in its prevention perspective and its
correlation with social rights is an urgent measure, since the models of mere prosecution are
outdated. The result of the research demonstrates the need to work together with other powers
to implement actions and plans for crime prevention.
