Resumo:
Guiding document of Basic Education throughout the national territory, the Common Base National Curriculum (BNCC, 2018) is mandatory and is provided for in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB, 9394/98) and in the National Education Plan (2004), and should appear as a reference in the curricula of all public and private schools. Aligning itself with the BNCC, the Tocantins State Government prepared and published the Tocantins Curriculum Framework (RCT, 2019). In their constitutions, these documents reserve a good part of their content for Linguistic Variation, an area of knowledge of Language that studies its use of the Portuguese Language in the social interactions of each community. In this sense, we present this essay, which aims to describe, discuss and analyze Linguistic Variation in the official Federal BNCC and State RCT Documents, identifying how Linguistic Variations are proposed in Portuguese Language Teaching, considering that this is a theory of Sociolinguistics, an area knowledge that tries to study the relationship between Language and Society. The methodological procedures were bibliographic, internetnographic and documentary research. Reading and writing of books, book chapters and scientific articles were made available in the Google Scholar Database, Scielo - Online Scientific Electronic Library and periodicals available in the Capes Platform - Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. The results indicate that both BNCC and RCT treat Linguistic Variation as essential in Portuguese Language Teaching; that by appropriating the theoretical and practical contributions of the language in use, students of Basic Education can perceive the importance of valuing the language in its orais connotation, understanding the other in its idiosyncrasies, facing linguistic prejudice and exercising empathy.
