The work aimed to analyze how the waterfront space is used in the daily life of the community and the visitors, and how the traditional popular festivals - such as the June festival and the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Procession - influence the identity formation of Tocantins society. That said, the methodology used was ethnography, from the field trip, and participant observation together with the aid of audiovisuals equipment for the realization of interviews, images, and videos. Oral history and local bibliography were also used, which protect and reveal the events from the old Boa Vista do Padre João to the current Tocantinópolis, favoring the collective memory and the tocantinopolina identity. As a result, the waterfront is considered a space for the community to circulate in everyday life, whether for work or a walk; the know-how of boatmen, fishermen, washing machines and the social practices of the festivities held on the waterfront, which is a mediator between the river and the city, full of memories, sociability and identity formation. Esta pesquisa dedica-se a compreender o patrimônio histórico e cultural na Orla de Tocantinópolis, cidade situada às margens do Rio Tocantins que nomeia o estado, na região conhecida como Bico do Papagaio. O trabalho objetivou analisar como o espaço da Orla é utilizado no cotidiano da comunidade e dos visitantes, e como as festas populares tradicionais – como a Festa Junina e a Procissão Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes – influenciam na formação identitária da sociedade tocantinopolina. Posto isto, a metodologia utilizada foi a etnografia, a partir da ida a campo, a observação participante juntamente com o auxílio de equipamentos audiovisual para a realização das entrevistas, imagens e videos. Foram utilizados ainda a História oral e a bibliografia local que resguardam e revelam os acontecimentos desde a antiga Boa Vista do Padre João até a atual Tocantinópolis, favorecendo a memória coletiva e a identidade tocantinopolina. Como resultado, considera-se a Orla da cidade como patrimônio histórico e cultural, assim como espaço de circulação da comunidade no cotidiano, quer seja para trabalho, quer seja para passeio; o saber-fazer dos barqueiros, pescadores/as, lavadores/as de roupas e as práticas sociais das festividades realizadas ali, sendo esta, mediadora entre o rio e a cidade, repleta de memórias, sociabilidades, além de formadora de identidade. 2022-12-21T11:12:53Z 2022-12-21T11:12:53Z 2022-12-02 Monografia Letícia Pereira da Conceição.
