The dictionary is a very important resource in learning and forming of the individual's
vocabulary. However, we can see that the use of this instrument has not been full in educational
spaces. In some situations it is discouraged and neglected. When we notice that in the basic
education the use of this artifice is so superficial, what perspective can we have with respect to
the use of the dictionary in the academic space?This work has as purpose to presentan
investigative research that aims to analyze the use of the mother tongue dictionary made by the
students, especially in the course of Letters, taking into account theorists and scholars that
analyze this approach.For this, we base ourselves on the interviews of Hernandes (1989) that
were made with the academics of the last period of the course.Given that this tool is so useful,
its use during training can broaden the knowledge, vocabulary, in short, will enable the student
a more comprehensive conception of teaching.Observing how the dictionary has been used by
students will bring a relevant contribution to understand how this reflects the practice of school
education nowadays. |
