Trying to elucidate the extent of the educational within the prison, which is the prison itself. With all the existing contradictions about the insertion of school education within the penitentiary system, the intention is to reflect on the real contribution of education to the man deprived of his freedom, given the punishments and multifaceted conditions that the system imposes when depersonalizing the individual. From a criminal-legal point of view, prison education is a foreseen and constitutionally acquired right, where school reeducation has the power to promote social integration and acquired knowledge, allowing inmates a perspective on the future and a new concept of freedom. In the face of so many adversities, the real problem will not be how education in prison is organized but rather what critical training will be used to permeate the educational practice. O propósito deste trabalho é estabelecer uma reflexão entre a analogia existente a respeito de prisão e de educação prisional. Busca elucidar a extensão do educacional no âmbito carcerário, que é a própria prisão. Com todas as contradições existentes sobre a inserção da educação escolar dentro do sistema penitenciário, a intenção é refletir sobre a real contribuição da educação para o homem privado de sua liberdade, diante das punições e condições multifacetadas que o sistema impõe ao despersonalizar o indivíduo. Do ponto de vista jurídicopenal a educação prisional é um direito previsto e constitucionalmente adquirido, em que a reeducação escolar tem o poder de promover a integração social e o conhecimento adquirido, possibilitando aos reclusos uma perspectiva sobre o futuro e um novo conceito sobre liberdade.
