This research sees the educational perspective of quilombola academics at higher level through
commuting, which is exposed here as an act of coming and going between two municipalities,
Muricilândia-TO city of origin and Araguaína-TO city where the Cimba campus is located of
the Federal University of Tocantins. Its general objective is to show the dynamics of daily
migration in which academics from the Dona Juscelina Quilombola Community - CQDJ are
inserted in the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, the specific objectives describe how the daily
movement directly influences the experience and coexistence of quilombola scholars, identify
the difficulties faced by quilombola scholars in the daily commute in 2018 and 2019, therefore,
and classify the changes in the phenomena of commuting that occurred with the beginning of
the covid-19 pandemic in 2020 in relation to commuting. Therefore, the methodology used
points to the approach that is qualitative and is based on the observation of the displacement
phenomenon describing such a situation, it also uses the quantitative approach, knowing that
the placement and development of the graphics are numbered as well as the open placements
in the last part of this research. It has as a methodological procedure the description being a
descriptive research. The geographic category addressed is place, which shows how the
experience of being in a different place with different people and new relationships of affection
can make huge changes.
