Resumo:
It is research consists of a reflection on environmental education in teaching Geography, and was based on the collected data to the State School CAIC - Jorge Humberto Camargo, located in Araguaína - TO. The research aims to study and see how public policies for environmental education in Brazil have been applied in Geography lessons; the objective is also to investigate how environmental education is being worked by geography discipline in the school field, check which results the school has achieved by EA in relation to the formation of the ecological subject and researching how environmental education is understood by teachers, especially geography. The realization of this research became relevant, due to the scenario of environmental problems in general that we are presented daily, and some of them within the very reality that the students are part, And also due to the lack of engagement on the part of the students, regarding the thematic of the EE that was perceived during the accomplishment of the stages of the stage, Thus allowing the emergence of concerns that resulted in this research, the methodology applied in the preparation of the present study is configured as a qualitative exploratory research, With the use of literature review, documentary analysis, observation, application of questionnaires, it is also part of the study to suggest some practices of EA that can be used in the teaching-learning process. The objectives proposed in the elaboration of the research were successfully achieved, in which even with the difficulties encountered in the school with regard to EA practice, teachers, especially those in Geography have promoted debates and dialogues together with Environmental issues.
