Covid-19 pandemie increased digital inclusion in higher education due the acceptance of Emergency Remote Teaching throught the Higher Education Institutions. Our specific objectives were understand the democratic purpose by technological tools access as well as public policies adopted by the Tocantins Federal University during the pandemic period, aiming digital inclusion during the covid19 pandemic. We aimed to understand teaching community interaction by using new technologies and digital inclusion in higher education as a defense of Emergency Remote Teaching in Higher Education Institutions. Emergency Remote Teaching was, therefore, a relevant pedagogical resource, made possible from the teaching and institutional desire in the search for strategies to face the problems caused by the new corona virus. Este estudo teve por objetivo compreender os impactos ocasionados pela pandemia na Universidade Federal do Tocantins, por intermédio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. A Pandemia (Covid 19) acelerou a inclusão digital no ensino superior, devido ao acolhimento e desenvolvimento do Ensino Remoto Emergencial (ERE) pelas instituições de ensino superior. Nessa perspectiva, o presente trabalho tem como objetivos específicos compreender o processo de democratização de ferramentas tecnológicas, bem como das políticas públicas adotadas pela UFT no decorrer desse período pandêmico, visando a inclusão digital durante a pandemia e a interação da comunidade docente com as novas tecnologias; realizar pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, pautada em autores de referência e artigos pertinentes ao assunto abordado; analisar o cenário da educação na atualidade e as perspectivas inovadoras que o ensino remoto está trazendo para a Universidade Federal do Tocantins. O Ensino Remoto Emergencial foi, portanto, recurso tecnológico relevante, acompanhado pelo anseio docente e institucional na procura por estratégias frente aos problemas ocasionados pelo novo corona vírus.
