The Supervised Internship in Veterinary Medicine was conducted in clinical practice at Small
Animals at the veterinary hospital of Universidade Federal do Paraná, from October 13 to
December 16, 2015, counting 360 hours. During the internship, there were followed 75
diseases and medical conditions diagnosed, in which 101 cases were from dogs and 22 were
from cats. In the outpatient monitoring, it was allowed to run the history and physical
examination prior to residents, assisting in restraint and physical examination of the animal,
collecting and forwarding of biological samples to the lab and filling prescriptions and clinical
records. This paper aims to describe the activities developed during the internship and report a
clinical case of feline diabetes mellitus and canine brucellosis. |
