The supervised internship was carried out at the company Hipolife, located on the city
of Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerais, from August 01 to October 09, 2017.
It sums a total of 400 hours. The internship was supervised by the veterinarian
Frederico Mesquita de Oliveira and under supervision of Prof. Dr Márcio Gianordoli
Teixeira Gomes. During the internship period, attendance was provided in the area of
medical clinic, surgery and reproduction of horses, allowing the academic to assist in
clinical care, anamnesis, physical examination, collection of biological material for
complementary examinations and administration of medications to patients attended.
This study aims to describe the activities carried out during the period of internship
such as the cases and care provided by veterinarians specializing in equine clinical
practice, as well as to report and discuss a clinical case on the suspension of the
suspensory ligament on the lateral branch.
