Resumo:
South Korea and its cultural diplomacy gained important aspects in the 1990s, as it was when the government began to realize that the area could have advances and potential to build an image of the country abroad in its many forms and gains ( both financial and prestige). Hallyu (also called Korean Wave), began to take shape both with the efforts of the private sector and the great importance given by the public sector, sharpening the creation of public diplomacy. The conditioning of how it was elaborated and being applied over the years, produces what we call Soft Power within International Relations. With this, the hypothesis is that the training on the development of cultural diplomacy in view of the consumption of Hallyu that we currently see encourages the creation of the Korean Cultural Center in order to possibly assume a role of promoting the expansion of Hallyu in the countries. Therefore, the objective of this work is to investigate the phenomenon of growth of Hallyu focusing on the investigation of the Korean Cultural Center as a tool for Korean cultural expansion. In this way, through qualitative research, it is possible to conclude that the development of Hallyu and the role of the Korean government demonstrates progress with the implementation of the centers.
