Babassu coconut extraction for a long time was carried out by coconut breakers who provided sustenance for their families. Over the years, with industrialization and deforestation, the breakers lost space, some managed to give new meaning to their work, others abandoned this activity, but They have family members who work in similar sectors, such as the industrialization of the babassu coconut, with the aim of using its oil and shell as charcoal, among other purposes. The general objective of the research is to highlight the general impacts of Tobasa on the Folha Grossa village, with specific objectives also including the presentation of the company's history, presentation of the Folha Grossa village, conceptualization of the babaçu coconut, impacts of Tobasa in general on the public -target. The work was structured into topics to facilitate the distribution of content, after the methodology, the theoretical framework, development and discussions, conclusion and references, and other data in annexes were exposed, which bring the necessary conclusion to this research, but do not intend to exhaust the researched topic. The scientific methodology served as the basis for the approach used in this research, which used the qualitative method as a way to approach the problem. The approach to the objects under study was exploratory, with field research being carried out. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the experiences of the interviewees shed light on the challenges they encountered in ensuring family support. Many of them started breaking coconuts and selling olive oil at a young age, which interfered with their education and ended up leading them to abandon their studies to work in the fields, carry out domestic tasks and support their families. Este trabalho trata sobre o coco babaçu e a Tobasa, com ênfase nos impactos no povoado Folha Grossa. O extrativismo do coco babaçu por muito tempo foi realizado por quebradeiras de coco que retiravam sustento para suas famílias, com o passar dos anos, com industrialização e o desmatamento, as quebradeiras perderam espaço, algumas conseguiram ressignificar seus trabalhos, outras abandonaram essa atividade, mas possuem familiares que trabalham em setores similares como de industrialização do coco babaçu, com intuito de utilizar seu óleo, casca como carvão, entre outras finalidades. O objetivo geral da pesquisa é evidenciar os impactos de forma geral da Tobasa no povoado Folha Grossa, tendo ainda como objetivos específicos a apresentação do histórico da empresa, apresentação do povoado Folha Grossa, conceituação do coco babaçu, impactos da Tobasa de modo geral no público- alvo. O trabalho foi estruturado em tópicos para facilitar a distribuição de conteúdo, após a metodologia foi exposto o referencial teórico, desenvolvimento e discussões, conclusão e referências, e outros dados em anexos a qual trazem a finalização necessária para essa pesquisa, mas não pretendem esgotar a temática pesquisada. A metodologia científica serviu de base para a abordagem utilizada nesta pesquisa, que utilizou o método qualitativo como forma de abordar o problema. A abordagem aos objetos em estudo foi exploratória, sendo realizada uma pesquisa de campo. Conclui-se ao fim da pesquisa que as experiências das entrevistadas esclarecem os desafios que encontraram para garantir o sustento familiar.
