This research addresses the theme: Practices of Environmental Education in Early Childhood Education through playfulness. In view of the above, the present study aims to: Research on environmental education practices in early childhood education through play. In more specific terms, we sought to: Know the Environmental Education Policies in Brazil; identify the importance of developing recreational activities as a methodology for environmental education in early childhood education; and to quantify and analyze environmental education in the educational documents DCNEI, BNCC, DCT and Educational Parameters of Early Childhood Education. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, the following question was asked: How to work with playfulness in early childhood education based on the practice of environmental education? From the methodological point of view, the research has a qualitative approach, carried out through bibliographical and documental research. It should be noted that playfulness for teaching environmental education in early childhood education is an instrument of great importance for the teaching and learning process, because if the child learns spontaneously, playfulness becomes crucial not only in the development of teaching and learning as well as in the social formation of the child, leading the same to form an environmental conscience, understanding itself as a subject of the natural environment and responsible for the maintenance of the environment.
