The present work proposes to study the Application Process of the deaf individual to the work environment in the public service in the city of Santarém/PA. Therefore, the research aims to understand the Brazilian Law of Inclusion, with regard to the limitation x environment, emphasizing the deaf individual, to present the accessibility
policy implemented emphasizing the deaf individual, to describe the Process of
Application of the deaf individual to the environment in the public service of
Santarém/PA and to evaluate the advances and limitations inherent to the Application Process of the deaf individual in the municipal public sector in the city of Santarém/PA. The theoretical framework that supports the study is organized in two parts: the first contextualizes the history of people with disabilities and inclusion,
demonstrates some characteristics of deafness and presents the Brazilian Inclusion Law with emphasis on the Deaf person, as well as the laws that regulate LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language), the recognition of the professional interpreter/translation of LIBRAS and the Quota Law, ending with a study on People Management and the processes that it manages, soon after, highlighting the Process Application and presenting the municipal government of Santarém/PA as a social employer. The study has a qualitative and exploratory character, because to support this research, a bibliographic survey and field research with semi-structured interviews were used. This is a case study and the data collected were treated through content analysis. As a result, it was identified that the Deaf person's Application Process does not
promote full accessibility to Deaf people who are public servants in the Municipality of
Santarém / PA. In this way, it is pointed out that, although the city hall of Santarém/PA assumes a role of social employer and complies with the Quota Law and offers equal conditions, the barriers are still numerous and most of the time discriminatory, especially in what it concerns the limitations on the communication of
the Deaf person. |
