Resumo:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the rate of violence against women has grown from measures of social isolation, causing victims to live more with their aggressor. Law 11.340/1996, the Maria da Penha Law, is intended to support and protect women victims of domestic and family violence, aiming to resolve gender violence. Therefore, this study aims to analyze violence against women during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the impact on the effectiveness of the Maria da Penha Law. From the analysis of the Brazilian context of violence against women; demonstration of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on violence against women; of the case study of how the Maria da Penha Law is put into effect in the COVID-19 pandemic scenario. The research methodology adopted was the exploratory bibliography, with reading and critical analysis of doctrines, articles and jurisprudence on the referred theme dealt with here. As for the nature of the research, it is classified as qualitative with a case study and quantitative with data collection for the numerical expression of cases of violence against women that occurred during the pandemic. The data collection technique was to carry out a survey in books, articles, theses, dissertations, the use of the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil of 1988 will be closely observed and its principles will guide the entire study. The doctrinal material will be obtained through articles published in specialized magazines, books, rulings of higher courts and annals of legislative debates, as well as the interview conducted SPECIALIZED REFERENCE CENTER FOR WOMEN SERVICE IN SANTARÉM (CREAM) to deepen the topic. However, domestic violence against women is historical and cultural, and it is undeniable to be dealt with. However, despite specific legislation with the Maria da Penha Law, more effective measures are still urgent.
