This paper surveyed the production and marketing of panniers and miriti toys in Abaetetuba, State of Pará, Brazil. The research was conducted in the riverine hamlet of Cutininga and in two craftsmen associations of Abaetetuba city, with semi-structured and non-structured interviews, totalizing 18 informants. Among marketed basketry items, panniers were the only products consistently sold, providing a steady flow of income for the residents of Cutininga. The commercialization of miriti toys has made increasing headway each year, with peak production and sales during October, on the occasion of the religious festival of the Círio de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré. Both toys and panniers have made their mark in the commercialization of craftwork. The miriti toys, made from Mauritia flexuosa L. f. fronds, have higher economic value for the county of Abaetetuba as a whole. Yet, for the community of Cutininga, panniers have a higher marketing value. No estuário amazônico, a palmeira Mauritia flexuosa L. f. (miriti) é conhecida por fornecer matéria-prima para a confecção de cestaria e brinquedos, ambos de relevância econômica e cultural para a população local. Este estudo teve como objetivo realizar um levantamento a respeito da produção e comercialização dos dois principais artefatos – paneiros e brinquedos de miriti, no município de Abaetetuba, Pará. A pesquisa foi conduzida na comunidade ribeirinha de Cutininga e em duas associações de artesãos da sede municipal, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e não estruturadas, envolvendo 18 informantes. Entre os produtos cesteiros comercializados, o paneiro é o único que conseguiu se manter no mercado e atualmente é a principal fonte de renda para os moradores da comunidade de Cutininga. Já a comercialização dos brinquedos de miriti vem ganhando maior expressividade a cada ano, com ápice de produção em outubro, durante a festividade do Círio de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré. Tanto os brinquedos como os paneiros atingiram escala comercial, sendo que o brinquedo é o produto feito da folha de Mauritia flexuosa L. f. de maior representatividade econômica no município.
