In this way, indicators are sought that can specifically define the mechanisms that pressure riverine and/or coastal fishermen to migrate; and, on the other hand, indicators of the impacts that are affecting the environmental resources of the ecosystems in which they directly shared. Inserido no Projeto Recursos Naturais e Antropologia das Sociedades Marítimas, Ribeirinhas e Lacustres da Amazônia: Estudos sobre relações do homem com seu meio ambiente em Sociedades Haliêuticas, este é um estudo de caráter exploratório que visa investigar o processo migratório de populações pesqueiras para a região metropolitana de Belém, intentando avaliar, preliminarmente, a situação do migrante no novo local de moradia e trabalho; resgatar os pontos introdutórios no eixo entre seus sítios de origem; e captar as expectativas atuais desses procurados nesse novo lócus.
