In the Brazilian Amazon, the genus Hymenaea L. (Leguminosaea Caesalpinioideae) is represented by the species H. courbaril var. courbaril L.,H. courbaril var. obtusifolia Ducke,H. courbaril var. subssesilis Ducke, H. intermedia var. intermedia Ducke, H. intermedia var. adenotricha (Ducke) Lee & Lang., H. oblongifolia var. oblongifolia Hub, H. oblongifolia var. palustris (Ducke) Lee & Lang., H. parvifolia Hub., H. reticulata Ducke, H. stigonocarpa Mart. ex Hayne and H. stigonocarpa varo pubescens Benth., whose pollen grains are being analyzed for their morphological aspects, such as size, shape, number of apertures, stratification and ornamentation of the exine. Acetolysis was the method used to prepare the pollen slides, which were taken from the herbaria MG (Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi), IAN (CAPTU/EMBRAPA), INPA (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia) and SP (Instituto de Botânica de São Paulo). The descriptions mainly considered the measurements of the polar and equatorial axes and the exine thickness. The pollen grains of the species analyzed are medium isopolar, radially symmetrical, 3-colporate and vary from spheroidal prolate to prolate, from slightly to finally reticulate surface, from triangular to circular in scope and from circular to elongate endopening. In order to separate the species studied by means of pollen morphology, a key was elaborated.
