The morphology of pollen grains of the species Andira cuiabensis Benth., A. inermis H.B.K., A. micrantha Ducke, A. multistipula Ducke, A. parvijlora Ducke, A. surinamensis (Bondt.) Splight ex Pulle, A. unifoliolata Ducke and A. retusa H.B.K. occurring in the Brazilian Amazon was analyzed. Adult floral buds were collected from exsiccata deposited in the main herbaria of the Amazon, MG (Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi), IAN (CPATU/ EMBRAPA) and INPA (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia), which were submitted to acetolysis and later measured, described and photomicrographed. It was found that the morphology of the pollen grains of the species studied is homogenous, varying only in shape and surface. They are isopolar, radially symmetric, 3-colporate, small, subprolate to prolate spheroidal, surface psyllate to slightly reticulate. Based on the pollen characters a key was elaborated in order to separate by means of pollen grains the investigated species
