The genera Bocoa Aubl. and Zollernia Maximil & Ness. (Leguminosae Caesalpinioideae) are represented in the Brazilian Amazon by the species Bocoa alterna (Benth.) Cowan, B. racemulosa (Hub.) Cowan, B. viridiflora (Ducke) Cowan, Zollernia grandifolia Schery, Z. kanukuensis Cowan and Z. paraensis Hub. In order to analyze its pollen morphology, adult flower buds were collected from samples in the main herbaria of the Amazon (MG, IAN and INPA), submitted to acetolysis and subsequent preparation of slides. To describe them, the standardized sequence was used: size, shape, number of openings, stratification, and exine omamentation. The pollen grains of the analyzed species are very homogeneous, i.e., they are 3-colloporated, with a psyllid surface and vary from small to medium-sized. Those from Bocoa have a triangular ambulation and vary from subprolates to prolates and those from Zollernia have a circular ambulation and vary from subprolates to spheroidal prolates. Using the different pollen characters, keys were elaborated (CNPq/MPEG).
