This work deals with the study of pollen morphology of species of the genus Calliandra Benth. (Leg. Mimos.) that occur in the Brazilian Amazon. Adult floral buds were taken from the main herbaria of the Amazon (MPEG) and (IAN-CPATU/EMBRAPA) and submitted to acetolysis. The pollinades were measured, described and photomicrographed. It was found that their morphology is variable in the number of pollen grains, shape and ornamentation of the exine, ranging from 8-16 pollen grains, oval to circular and psyllid to slightly reticulate.
