Documentary analysis was performed as an instrument of data collection. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and in light of the authors who discuss the topic of evasion in higher education. During this period there were seven incoming classes, five undergraduate and two bachelor's degrees. The rate of dropout among the seven courses oscillated, with the lowest and the highest one being offered by the bachelor's degrees. Although undergraduate and baccalaureate students had indices below the national average for the period, there were a large number of students evading 60, indicating the need for studies on the causes that have triggered this phenomenon, with a view to proposing actions to mitigate it. Este estudo de abordagem quantitativa intitulado A evasão em números no ensino superior: estudo sobre a Universidade Federal do Pará, Campus de Altamira com o principal objetivo de diagnosticar o índice de evasão por faculdade e no campus das turmas ingressantes nos anos de 2009 e 2010. Como instrumento de coleta de dados foi realizada a análise documental. Os dados foram analisados por meio da estatística descritiva e à luz dos autores que discutem a temática da evasão no ensino superior. Houve nesse período sete turmas ingressantes, cinco de Licenciatura e duas de bacharelado. O índice de evasão entre os sete cursos oscilou, sendo o mais baixo e o mais alto apresentado pelas licenciaturas.
