The objective is to point out the importance of the school library for the development of projects that encourage environmental education. The methodology used was documented (printed and electronic). The research is qualitative and quantitative. The results point out that the school library is indispensable for the educational process, when it works in conjunction with the school it can encourage environmental education through the elaboration of projects and events that address this theme, it should be directed by a proactive librarian, who embraces the side social science of librarianship and transform the library into an active and dynamic space, thus contributing to the creation of critical thinking in children and adolescents about environmental issues. Apresenta a missão educativa da biblioteca escolar, aponta a possibilidade de atuação do bibliotecário como educador e discorre acerca das questões ambientais fazendo o contexto histórico da década 60 até a agenda 2030 para o desenvolvimento sustentável. O objetivo é apontar a importância da biblioteca escolar para a elaboração de projetos que incentivem a educação ambiental. A metodologia utilizada ocorreu por meio de levantamento documental (impresso e eletrônico). A pesquisa é qualitativa e quantitativa. Os resultados apontam que a biblioteca escolar é indispensável para o processo educacional, quando trabalha em conjunto com a escola pode incentivar a educação ambiental através da elaboração de projetos e eventos que abordem essa temática, deve ser dirigida por um bibliotecário proativo, que abrace o lado social da biblioteconomia e transforme a biblioteca em um espaço atuante e dinâmico, contribuindo, assim, para a criação de um pensamento crítico em crianças e adolescentes acerca das questões ambientais. 2019-04-03T17:55:53Z 2019-04-03T17:55:53Z 2018 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação RABELO, Fabiane do Socorro Lopes.
