The present study the maim porpuse of investigating the maim theories into account only the physical aspects of ergonomics the study was characterized by an exploratory information on the topic of ergonomics and application in university libraries. The proposal for data collection was bibliographical and searched in books, articles and manuals to in the documents sought to know the guidelines established by the Ministry of Labor and Employment through Regulatory Norms 5, 6, 15 and 17 wich cover the works in general and the employees of university libraries. The university library that is the focus of this study, because it is a place of great production and distribution of knowledge and together with is university librarian, should be contemplated with the information and ergonomic practices in order to know and learn about the orientations of ergonomics and so can apply them in your work environment. It was found in the research that some university libraries of other states of our country are already obeying the instructions established by NR 17, referring to the librarian works need to be reached in greater proportions in relation to this information. It is conclude that as librarians begin to have information about ergonomics and its functionalities, consequently, they will work more confident, secure and better protect their health.
