This research proposed to answer the following question: How is the theme “sex education” approached in the political-pedagogical project and in the curriculum (contents and practices) of an elementary school, early years, located in the municipality of Breves? The guiding questions related to this research problem were: How is the historical process of sexual education in Brazil? How are the contents and pedagogical practices characterized for the approach of the theme “sex education”? For its implementation, a bibliographic search was initially performed. Subsequently, we opted for a qualitative approach, taking as a type of research the case study in an elementary school in the urban area of Breves-PA. The technique used for data collection was the semi-structured interview, conducted with 05 teachers. To support the discussions of this research, we use the propositions of Figueiró (1996), Ribeiro (2004), Nunes and Silva (2000) Furlani (2011), Maistro (2009), Benites (2006), Louro (1997), Frison (2008). ), Egypto (2012). Three documents leading to national education were also analyzed, namely: National Education Guidelines and Bases Law, the National Curriculum Parameters and the 9 (nine) year National Curriculum Guidelines. The results of the research indicate that the sexual education in the researched school is inserted through the Pedagogical Political Project and the Curricular Proposal and is materialized in the classroom through the teaching practice. However, the sexual education we have is more related to the biological-hygienist and pedagogical aspects. Therefore, there is still a long way to go to achieve the emancipatory - or political approach, as some authors prefer to mention - of sexuality, since sexuality encompasses several aspects, beyond which they are already being worked on in school. O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso objetivou analisar a inserção do tema “Educação Sexual” no projeto político-pedagógico e no currículo de uma escola de ensino fundamental, anos iniciais, localizada no município de Breves-PA. Esta pesquisa propôs responder ao seguinte questionamento: Como o tema “educação sexual” é abordado no projeto político-pedagógico e no currículo (conteúdos e práticas) de uma escola de ensino fundamental, anos iniciais, localizada no município de Breves? As questões norteadoras atreladas a esse problema de pesquisa foram: Como se dá o processo histórico da educação sexual no Brasil? Como se caracterizam os conteúdos e as práticas pedagógicas para a abordagem do tema “educação sexual”? Para sua implementação, inicialmente foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica. Posteriormente, optou-se por uma abordagem qualitativa, tendo como tipo de pesquisa o estudo de caso em uma escola de ensino fundamental da zona urbana do município de Breves-PA. A técnica utilizada para a coleta de dados foi a entrevista semiestruturada, realizadas com 05 professores. Para fundamentar as discussões desta pesquisa, utilizamos as proposições de Figueiró (1996), Ribeiro (2004), Nunes e Silva (2000) Furlani (2011), Maistro (2009), Benites (2006), Louro (1997), Frison (2008), Egypto (2012). Também foram analisados três documentos que conduzem a educação nacional, que são: Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional, os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais e as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para o Ensino Fundamental de 9 (nove) anos. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que a educação sexual, na escola pesquisada, está inserida por meio do Projeto Político Pedagógico e da Proposta Curricular e se concretiza na sala de aula por meio da prática docente. No entanto, a educação sexual que temos está mais relacionada aos aspectos biológico-higienista e pedagógico.
