A descriptive research was performed, for which the technique of Quantitative approach bibliometrics, through search in specialized databases BVS - BIREME in the following indexers: LILACS; MEDLIDE and BDENF. Using the filters: full text available, MEDLINE database, LILACS, BDENF - Nursing (Brazil); Portuguese language; Main subject: Perioperative nursing and teaching. For sample selection, the following inclusion criteria were adopted: articles published in Portuguese and; complete articles; whose title portrayed the theme defined in the descriptors. Time frame for the study in question was 30 years. The sample of this study consisted of 04 publications, which were selected after reading and thorough analysis. The 04 articles selected for this study included practices that cover fundamental aspects of the meaningful teaching proposal through the development of action mechanisms in the formative environment of professionals and students. However, it was not possible to identify classroom or service use through the delimitation of technique described in the various publications that portray active teaching methodologies. This scenario proved to be fundamental to conduct research focused on which methodologies are most effective, as well as to survey which institutions are already applying this new method of teaching and learning and what were the long / short term benefits within of the area of operation of the health professional . O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a incidência do uso das metodologias ativas no ensino de enfermagem perioperatória em publicações científicas nacional, no período de 1989 a 2019. Realizou-se uma pesquisa descritiva, para a qual foi utilizada a técnica da Bibliometria de abordagem quantitativa, por meio da busca em bases de dados especializada BVS – BIREME nos seguintes indexadores: LILACS; MEDLIDE e BDENF. Utilizando-se dos filtros: texto completo disponível, base de dados MEDLINE, LILACS, BDENF – Enfermagem (Brasil); Idioma: Português; Assunto principal: Enfermagem perioperatória e ensino. Para a seleção da amostra foram adotados os seguintes critérios de inclusão: artigos publicados em português e; artigos completos; os quais o título retratasse a temática definida nos descritores. Recorte temporal para o estudo em questão foi de 30 anos. A amostra deste estudo foi composta por 04 Publicações, as quais foram selecionadas após a realização de leitura e análise minuciosa. Os 04 artigos selecionados para este estudo incluíam práticas que abrangem aspectos fundamentais da proposta de ensino significativo através do desenvolvimento de mecanismos de atuação no meio formativo de profissionais e discentes. Porém em nenhum foi possível identificar o uso em sala de aula ou serviço através da delimitação de técnica descrita nas diversas publicações que retratam as metodologias ativas de ensino.
