In this way, we intend to problematize the consequences caused by the opening of Transamazônica in the educational area and to identify the investments made by this integration project that was responsible for the rapid increase of the population index in the municipality. From the analysis of interviews and reports of memories, as well as the documents provided by the schools, it was possible to understand the reality of school education in Altamira in the 1970s. The research was carried out using theoretical contributions related to the studied period, magazines and books that talk about the military regime, education during the dictatorship and about the municipality of Altamira. The results allow us to discuss the changes that occurred in the education of this municipality and how this process occurred in the school context from the implantation of this great enterprise Este artigo tem como objetivo discorrer sobre as consequências com a construção da Rodovia Transamazônica, uma das maiores obras da ditadura militar, na educação escolar no município de Altamira. Busca-se assim, problematizar as decorrências causadas com abertura da Transamazônica no âmbito educacional e identificar os investimentos realizados por esse projeto de integração que foi o responsável pelo rápido aumento do índice populacional no município. A partir da análise de entrevistas e relatos de memórias, bem como dos documentos cedidos pelas escolas, foi possível compreender a realidade da educação escolar em Altamira na década de 1970. A pesquisa foi realizada com a utilização de aporte teóricos relacionados a época pesquisada, revistas e livros que dialogam sobre o regime militar, a educação na época da ditadura e sobre o município de Altamira.
