Introduction: Discussions about structural and institutional racism directed at indigenous people in the context of academic life are essential, as they make it possible to reveal the implications of this practice in relation to training movements and day-to-day student practices from the perspective of the consequences that the racism brings to your higher education. Objective: to understand institutional racism in the context of higher education, specifically, suffered by indigenous students at UFPA, from the identification of cases involving institutional racism against indigenous students at UFPA in order to know how these cases were handled by the University, to finally, to understand the existing actions to face this reality by UFPA. Method: literature review and analysis of case reports available on social media and Apyeufpa collections. Results: the analysis of the cases revealed that the indigenous students of UFPA have perspectives that involve, in addition to higher education, socialization and the breaking of paradigms, however, the implementation of actions that are capable of making the university an efficient space for development intellectual are still needed. Conclusion: it is essential to promote greater investments in pedagogical monitoring and multicultural education strategies that aim to highlight the importance of multiple perspectives in the context of higher education, in addition, it is essential that UFPA promotes continuing education actions for teachers in order to avoid situations such as those described and to raise awareness about the importance of respecting diversity for the enrichment of the teaching/learning and research/intervention process at higher education.
