Therefore, the research sought to know how does the process of control and evaluation occurs, having as general objective to understand the importance of this phase, having as specific objectives for the demonstration of the stages and instruments used for the preparation and execution of strategic planning, the description of the methodology used in the process, control, evaluation and identification of the main difficulties found in the execution of the short and medium term. For this result, a bibliographical and documentary research was carried out, together with field research of descriptive character with a qualitative approach. By means of the research, we conclude that the process of control and evaluation is characterized as a mechanism indispensable for the Strategic Planning to be really effective. Aborda o processo de controle e avaliação do Planejamento Estratégico aplicado na Biblioteca Universitária pertencente à Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (UFRA). Desta forma, a pesquisa buscou conhecer de que maneira ocorre o processo de controle e avaliação, tendo como objetivo geral entender a importância desta fase, possuindo como objetivos específicos à demonstração das etapas e instrumentos utilizados para a elaboração e execução do Planejamento Estratégico, a descrição da metodologia utilizada no processo e controle e avaliação e a identificação das principais dificuldades encontradas na execução das estratégias de curto e médio prazo. Para esse fim, realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, somada a pesquisa de campo de caráter descritivo com abordagem qualitativa.
