The methodology of this study is the bibliographic and documentary survey, based on the laws that govern Brazilian education regarding the production of textbooks. As a result, we hope to understand the motivations and obstacles to the use of African cultures in textbooks. Este trabalho trata de um levantamento das leis que orientam e normatizam a difusão de saberes da cultura afro brasileira, que se fazem presentes nos livros didáticos. Nosso objetivo é de identificar os elementos que podem ser trabalhados nas aulas de matemática, tendo como parâmetros a cultura de matriz africana. A metodologia desse estudo é o levantamento bibliográfico e documental, a partir das lei que regem a educação brasileira quanto a produção de livros didáticos.
